The 1st Aviation & Space Symposium (#AS22) will take place on 1 & 2 June 2022 in St. Gallen. As a unique highlight, the event will be held together with the 10th Bodensee Aerospace Meeting (#BAM22), bringing the industry event to Switzerland for the third time, organized by the Swiss Aerospace Cluster and 4 partner clusters from Germany and Austria.

To create a special experience for the 10th anniversary, both events complement each other, representing the largest cross-cluster Aerospace symposium in Europe.

The BAM and AS Symposium, organised by the Center for Aviation Competence of the University of St. Gallen, will focus on the sustainable future of civil aviation and the New Space Economy.

Under the title "New Frontiers: Aviation meets Space", a table-top exhibition with exhibitors from the DACH region will be combined with a top-class range of speakers from the aerospace industry. In this combination, the Aviation & Space Symposium will organise two expert panels for the conference part, which will communicate current research and industry trends to the expert audience and also discuss the challenges of the future  and concluded by two exciting panel discussions. Confirmed speakers are:

  • Prof. Dr. Pascale Ehrenfreund (President, International Space University / Astronautical Federation)
  • Ulrich Kübler (Director Space Exploration, AIRBUS)
  • Annette Mann (CEO, Austrian Airlines)
  • Dr. Philipp Furler (CEO, Synhelion)
  • Stefan Tschudin (COO, Zürich Airport)
  • Prof. Dr. Judith Walls (Institute for Economy & Environment, HSG)
  • Renato Krpoun (Head of Swiss Space Office, SERI)

#AS22 and #BAM22 will highlight the relaunch of global aeronautics under sustainability criteria as well as address the requirements and opportunities of new space programs in a European context. The industrial exhibition will grow by about 50% compared to previous Bodensee Aerospace Meetings and all conference presentations will be broadcast live on LED walls in the exhibition hall. This will allow networking activities to continue throughout the day. Within the framework of the "Meet the Expert" blocks, participants will again be able to engage in direct exchange with the experts after their presentations.

On the day before the conference, participants will have the opportunity to visit aerospace companies (this time in the Swiss Rhine Valley) and to exchange ideas with representatives from industry, research and science at the networking evening. The organisers will treat the Symposium and BAM guests to Swiss specialities in the entertainment area of the OLMA trade fair in St. Gallen.

As a new feature, the premium partners Kopter/Leonardo, RUAG AG and AIRBUS will each invite existing and new business partners to a direct exchange in a business lounge and offer the opportunity to talk about innovations with research institutions, SMEs and start-ups.

The BAM Clusters invite other aerospace companies to make use of this offer; up to 3 additional Business Lounges can be commissioned for 02 June.

We look forward to your participation!
